What did you say?

Brian and I have been working on a list of vocabulary that we regularly have been hearing for our 6 months here now. We can now say, that without even realizing it, we use most of these phrases and words in our day to day living! Here is a list of the most common Aussie slang words and terms used. Its very common that the laid back Aussies shorten most words or phrases, and though we're used to it, some things still get a bit lost in translation :) Check it out for yourself HERE.

Meanwhile...my play/rock musical "tick, tick...BOOM!" (written by RENT writer Jonathan Larson) is approaching its opening night this coming Wednesday, November 19th! Here are one of many promo listings around the city. I am so excited and we (the cast of 3) are ecstatic to finally open this show! The best part is that the two other actors (Aussie guys) have to fake American accents, and I obviously didn't have to worry about it! Video clips will be (hopefully) posted in the next 2 weeks once we sneak in a video camera to tape a performance.

Brian has been busy quickly gathering camping gear and learning about camping and exploring out in the bush! He has already spent a rainy weekend hiking and camping out in the bush and is gearing up with Dustin to camp in another one of the millions of camping options. Gear is a bit more expensive down under, but as always Brian is doing it right and getting gear that will last a lifetime. He promises to take a camera next outing and update The Gallery soon!
