I told you we'd be back to blog! During our non blogging hiatus B was off and riding every chance he got (see below for an example) and I was house-sitting on the other side of town, and working a lot of nights and weekends. In between the constant rain we've been getting, every bakery in town has been making hot cross buns like these (above) for the last month! They are SO popular that they come in choc chip and mocha flavors :) Aussies get a 4 day weekend for Easter each year, and we didn't realize until the LAST MINUTE that neither of us had to work this weekend! The entire city of Brisbane seemed to clear out and head out of town, so B and I figured out a way to do a last minute getaway up north, to
Mt. Tamborine.

Back to our Easter getaway....we headed north to Mt Tamborine, where it is basically a small town in a rainforest. There are a lot of exotic birds, cool plants, and rainy days up there! We first headed up to the market (my favorite) so I could pick up some locally grown fruits and veggies, handmade soap, and plants :)
Look! The two trees are holding hands :)
We wandered to the many wineries in this area (excellent wine region, due to the constant rain and elevation!) These grapes had just been plucked.

I was thoroughly impressed by this part!!
No reason for this picture except to show you that millions of crazy Asian tourists flock to Oz for their holiday. I think I want to be this guy for Halloween...
All in all, what a nice weekend to sneak away from the city! The sun finally came out today, so go figure that we're both back to work....Till next time- cheers!!

Wow, that stunt driving is impressive! Especially on wet roads! Thanks for the update. It's good to know you're still having fun out there.
You guys have too much fun! I totally had a dream last night that I was in Aussie at your place. Crazy preggo dreams! We will miss you at Krysta's party today :( I'll have my Brian drink a pina colada for you.
