"You're the only Americans I've ever met who like vegemite"

Yes, people. This is our SECOND jar of Vegemite we have gone through since living here. In fact, we have even upgraded to a larger size of Vegemite!

I thought we should address the Vegemite issue head on in this blog posting. Especially since most of you are making that "ew" face right now while reading this.
We felt it was our foreigner duty to embrace all aspects of the Aussie culture. This of course, means to eat Vegemite on toast- with heaps of butter, with tea for "brekkie" (breakfast). At first it was bizarre. I mean, who wants to spread this tar looking stuff onto their toast? (And the main ingredient is yeast!) Well, judge no more... because we are slowly falling in love with this Aussie staple. In fact, Summer has even invented a new breakfast idea that we all eat regularly! It's called "eggy-mite" and its basically toast with heaps of butter, a thin layer of Vegemite, and a fried egg on top. Don't get grossed out until you try it! :)
