Time to move along with some more photo albums for you to peruse. Hopefully you had enough time to browse the photos posted yesterday, remember you can view ALL of the albums that have ever been posted by bookmarking the site: http://picasaweb.google.com/bkozan
Today we move onto 2009, starting with my very first ride on my brand new dirtbike!

Dirtbiking North Stradbroke Island
I purchased a 2007 Honda CRF250X in late 2008. The reason I went for the 'X' model is that it is street legal from the factory. It comes with a license plate, blinkers, lights and can be ridden on the streets of Australia. I was required to purchase this model because registration is required to ride off-road, unless the trails are part of someones private land (such as a moto-cross track). I frequently ride in National Forests and State Parks so the registration isn't optional. (Basic liability insurance is included in Queensland registration fees). This was my maiden voyage, so I rode the bike out of the garage and onto the Stradbroke Ferry. After a 40 minute ferry ride I was straight onto the sandy beaches to learn everything about my new toy. I quickly took to the beaches and then found the fire trails that are a bit more challenging. A few crashes and some minor broken parts later I loaded back onto the ferry and headed home. It was a great trip, and since Stradbroke is so easily accessible I will be back often!

Rock Climbing at Kangaroo Point
Our mate from South Africa, James, is an avid climber and has all the gear necessary for a group of us to go climbing free of charge. The cliffs are located right on the water of the Brisbane River, and on the other side of the river is a beautiful view of downtown Brizzy. There are hundreds of named and rated climbs to choose from, and we have made it a regular Tuesday / Thursday event.

Ettamogah Pub
This is an interesting old building with a car on the roof that looks like it came straight out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon. We've driven past it many times on the Bruce Highway on our way to the Sunshine Coast, and finally Summer and I were parched enough to stop in for a beer.

See you tomorrow with some more pics! Hope you can keep up....
