This weekend was busy. I mean, we are still trying to get the fish smell out of the house! (We'll get to that later) For starters, B and I got a cultural education about a famous outlaw in Australia's history. The name Ned Kelly seemed to be a household name around here, so we thought we'd get with the times and watch another outstanding Heath Ledger performance. If you haven't already seen the flick, it outlines the story of famous Irishman Ned Kelly and his controversial "hero or villain" identity. His iconic handmade armor, green sash, and stand off with the police in 1880 stands as a true Aussie legend in this country. If you want to know more, rent this movie on your next Friday night on the couch!
Secondly, to touch on the latest national news here...we are still recovering from the bushfires in Victoria that devastated the country earlier in Feb., Hugh Jackman and Heath Ledger had a great presence at the Oscars, and recently- there have been a record number of shark attacks in the last 3 weeks! The 3rd attack in 3 weeks happened in popular Avalon Beach in Sydney just yesterday, and YES this is a huge deal lately. This has sparked much discussion because some say "what is going on in the oceans since the sharks seem to be attacking so much this year?" or some might say "who cares? the humans are in sharks' home, so its the risk you take!" What do YOU reckon? (post your opinion here if you'd like)
Lastly, Brian, Dustin and mate Logan (visiting from AZ) went on a deep sea fishing trip on Saturday. They had the time of their lives, and brought back reef fish and crab for us to feast on! I'll let B blog on this but just one question for you all: how do I get the fishy smell out of my house?!? (again, take this opportunity to post your suggestion on here)
Looking forward to everyone's comments! :0) -Sum

Ok... so I have to be on the "stay outta the water" side of the argument. What the hell is wrong with people?!?! Havent they seen Jaws? or that one movie where they get left behind out in the middle of the ocean??? That is why I will NOT be going in the ocean past my ankles!! SHARKS WIN!!!
Oh my gosh, tell Brian to be careful when he goes fishing if there are tons of shark attacks! YIKES! Better yet, tell him NOT to hahaha Anyway, eww I hate the smell of fish... good luck with that!
PS, humans are in the sharks home... swim at your own risk LOL
It's upsetting to me that there are people actually employed to go out and hunt down the "guilty sharks" and kill them. What a joke. It's not like the shark was pissed and got in a dispute with the guy - he was freakin hungry! Leave the sharks alone, it's not their fault we taste good.
